Definition
The X bridges enabling glass ribbon to be divided to plates are one of the very important modules in the cold-end.
Cutting quality and straightness directly affect productivity and glass plate quality.
Specifications
Cutting Precision
+/- 1mm on plate dimensions
+/- 2mm between diagonals
Plate limit
1800 mm with single bridge, 900 mm with double bridges at 1250 m/h line speed
Local Mode
This is the mode that enables operation of he bridge independent from the Opti-Em optimization system.
Manual Mode functions
- Manual Cutter Up
This is the movement performed, when required by the operator. Cutting procedure is not realized. It is used in the
test procedures of the bridg e.
- Manual Cutting
This is the movement performed, when required by the operator, for the cutting head on the bridge
for realizing the cutting procedure. It is perceived to be used for requirements of cutting-on-demand.
- Local Cutting
This is the mode of cutting glass plates constantly with the same dimensions.
It is used in the cases of optimization being out-of-service or on demand.
Automatic Mode
This is the operation mode when plate dimensions are automatically sent to the X Bridge from the Opti-Em optimization
program.
Multiple Synchronization
This is the ability of more than one bridge in the system to work in parallel. At high ribbon speeds, starting end of
small dimension plates are cut by the first bridge with trailing ends by the second bridge.
Automatic Mode Functions
- Automatic Cutter Up
This is the movement of the cutter with the cutting head receives from the optimization
system but cutting procedure is not realized. It is used in the bridge test procedure.
- Automatic Cutting
This is the movement of the cutting head on the bridge to do the cutting procedure with
cutting order received from the optimization system. It is the main operation mode of the bridge.
Synchronization Test
This is the cutting specification used for controlling the synchronous positions of bridges. This is the movement of
the cutting head going down and up first where the glass cord starts and secondly ends on the X cutting axis of the
glass cord in the relative cutting coordinates that optimization decides.
Specifications for Change of Digitizer Pulse Coefficient
This is the specification of calculating the pulse information sent by digitizers multiplied by a certain coefficient. With
this specification, the Plate dimensions can be cut with the required tolerances.
Specifications for Selecting Automatic/Manual Digitizer
It is possible to determine automatically and manually which one of the 2 digitizers used in line speed detection on
cooling conveyors is the most precise.
Specifications for Simulating Digitizer
This is the specification for the line speed to be simulated for the continuation of production in the case that the 2
digitizers used for detecting the line speed of cooling conveyors are out-of-service.
